Communications

The City of South Haven strives to keep its residents informed of local government activities. The city uses several avenues to do this: web site; City Council agendas; Boards & commissions agendas; City Waves newsletter sent with monthly utility bills; Facebook; kiosk postings; brochure rack at city hall; plans displayed at city hall; city cable channel 21; web site email subscription list;  and press releases sent to local radio stations and newspapers.

Web users wishing to receive email notifications may subscribe on the Home Page of the city’s web site. The email subscription list is used to send City Council agendas and important notices such as boil water advisories.

In 2006, City Council approved a media policy to clarify acceptable ways in which the methods of communications should be used. Amendments to the policy were since approved to clarify the intent of the policy. Resolution 2010-08 is the current media policy.
